RULES & REGULATIONS
RULES
To insure all rules are followed on this board, Art Roleplay uses warning strikes. The first strike will result in a three day ban, a second strike will be a two week ban, and three strikes will be a permanent ban. Be aware that certain acts against the rules, such as death threats/abuse or stealing art/claiming it as your own will result in an immediate ban.

Accounts
| 2 | Using a separate account or accounts is permitted on this forum. In the bottom right hand corner there's a little icon (the two people) that allows you to switch your account on the forum. |
General Chat
| 3 | Talk of controversial topics or subjects that can quickly become heated, such as politics or religion is not allowed in this forum. If a moderator suspects a thread is getting heated, the thread will be locked and deleted. Starting threads about politics and religion specifically will result in a strike. Remember to keep the topics in this forum PG-13. |
Age and adult content
| 4 | As of right now our entire forum is available for everyone ages 13+ to read and contribute. Adult roleplays, content, images and topics will not be permitted publicly in this forum. In the near future we plan to make an adult roleplay board accessible if the demand is high for it. Seeking out roleplayers for offsite or personal adult roleplays (18+) is permitted, just remember to label properly. |
Use of Adoptables
| 5 | The use of adoptables are permitted as of right now, though you must remember to credit the creator/artist and not claim the art as your own, if their terms require it. |
Use of other graphics, art, and/or ideas
| 6 | Art Roleplay is a forum for creative individuals who like to create their own characters, worlds, and graphics, so the use of anyone else's art or ideas without their explicit permission is unacceptable. This includes tracing art that is not your own, stealing ideas, information, and art from dead roleplay groups. Please remember to get permission from the original artists and credit them. If we become aware you are stealing or tracing creations that are not your own, this will result in an immediate ban. |
Use of edited anime gifs, game or film screencaps, etc
| 7 | Use of images of this category is permitted. However, you are not allowed to use photo-shopped images that were enhanced someone who hasn't given you their permission. (for example, a random tumblr user's photo edits.) |
Use of public domain photos or imagery
| 8 | The use of photography or graphics that's under public domain is completely acceptable. Remember to state or credit where you got the references from, or if they do not need credits, remember to mention that your images are public domain/free to use if asked. |

Forum usage
| 1 | The Art Roleplay forum includes a wide variety of interests and purposes, so it's very important you try to be as specific as possible with your posts. |
Out of Character Roleplay Threads
| 2 | Do not post roleplay threads here that are not meant to be played on the forum, such as advertising your skype based RP in this category. The OOC Roleplay forum is meant to host play by post roleplays. If you wish to collect interest in offsite RPs, the “Deviantart and other Offsite Roleplay” board is the place to be. |
Be specific
| 3 | Organize your applications any way you wish; just be sure to keep from being vague. Create PSD apps and let your members fill them out, or simply use classical written applications and a drawn image. Our forums allow BBCode, so be as creative or simple as you want with your threads to suit your purposes. |
Let roleplayers know what you want of them
| 4 | How often do you want them to post? What are your deadlines for applications; is the deadline a month from your post, or are they free to jump in whenever? When you're searching for 1x1 partners, are you okay with RPing over skype or google docs? Remember to be as specific as you can be in order to avoid confusion and make roleplaying easier and less stressful. |
Give your thread a status
| 5 | If your thread is still under construction, opening at a certain time, reserved for certain members, or no longer accepting applications; remember make these status's aware to onlookers. |
Categorize your roleplays
| 6 | Be sure to give some sort of genre to your thread when posting your roleplays. (Such as: Roleplay name – OPEN (scifi/romance)) If the OOC Board begins to grow increasingly active, then the admins may consider subforums for different genres, but for the time being, your posts need to be labeled. |
All of these rules may be subject to be amended in the future as we grow.
