Hey guys! Welcome to our first news post. There's still a little bit of work to do here, such as combing through the rules thoroughly and making sure there's nothing else I need to add for the time being. Other than that, the forum is pretty much ready for action! Afterwards I plan to set up the deviantART group, but I want to be able to get everything together once I create it.

I also wanted to take some time in this post to briefly talk about why I started this forum. Aside from DeviantART and maybe toyhou.se in the past year, there hasn't really been any other spaces or communities for roleplayer artists. In my own experiences with DeviantART roleplays, they've been a great past time for me, but I've always felt there was something lacking with them. Many of these roleplays mainly center around creating a basic plot, then leaving members up to their own devices, often leaving out other members of the group, and the roleplay eventually dies out due to lack of inactivity. I felt that a lot of these plots would benefit greatly from all the characters interacting and developing with each in a group, like forum play by post RPs, but for people who like to draw their characters. At the same time, I didn't want to disconnect people from the existing art communities themselves, so the idea of creating a forum that members can roleplay on and off of the forum would be a really cool place for our niche to thrive in. I wanted to create another community so fellow roleplayers can find more options for them out there, and hopefully the opportunities will keep growing.

I'm still very interested to see how you guys will end up using the forums here, so once the activity starts gaining, please don't feel shy about using the suggestion box board.
